How to create abstract textures using pointillize filter in Photoshop CC 2019 etc

How to create abstract textures using the pointillize filter (as well as others) in Photoshop CC 2019 - see the video tutorial here by me https://youtu.be/tgPVKE9dyxM The video shows the steps from using the pointillize filter with channels panel and then using the find edges command along with oil paint and adjustments such as levels to create all kinds of unique and surreal textures / backgrounds / backdrops in seconds. At each stage the work can be saved to the CC libraries via the window menu libraries. You can export the work for use in After Effects and many other applications. You can manipulate the generated cell designs in all kinds of ways such as adding additional effects such as stamp or using the result as a source for awesome 3D models.

Amberlight - create awesome fire & flame backgrounds and much more

If you are using a mac then a really wonderful application to checkout (especially if you catch one of their special offers) is the " Amberlight " (from Escape Motions).  They have also a number of other tools that are equally as useful such as Flame Painter.  You can use the tool to create intense fire themed backgrounds as well as overlays as well as abstract art that can be quickly added as a pattern or used as a source for new brushes as well as just great images for your work.  You can find out more about the tool, as well as download a trial version, via  http://www.escapemotions.com/products/amberlight/index.php The above image was created in Amberlight and then has been manipulated in Adobe Photoshop CC by combining multiple layers from the Amberlight application and then adding an oil paint filter effect as well as a color lookup adjustment.
